What exactly is Tapcoat?

Tapcoat is a digital cloakroom system for events, venues, and event businesses of any size. It fully replaces physical cloakroom tags with digital receipts — as a QR code, NFC identifier, or wallet pass right on the guest’s smartphone.

The goal is clear: no lines, no lost tags, no cash chaos, no paper.

What makes Tapcoat fundamentally different

Guests don’t have to download an app. That’s a deliberate design decision — every extra hurdle in the check-in process lengthens the wait and frustrates guests before the event has even started. With Tapcoat, the guest scans a QR code at the cloakroom, hands over their jacket, and instantly receives a digital cloakroom pass right in their smartphone’s wallet app — Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. These apps come preinstalled on every modern smartphone. No download, no login, no registration.

The digital cloakroom pass shows guests their assigned hanger location. That builds trust, significantly reduces questions at the counter, and speeds up pickup at the end of the event.

Cloakroom staff work with the Tapcoat app on their own smartphone or tablet. No dedicated hardware, no special POS system, and no local installation are needed. Tapcoat runs entirely in the cloud — on any modern iOS or Android device.
